A rough reading aid, not exact pronunciation. Hyphens separate syllables. Listen first, then try with hints hidden. “eu” is said with unrounded lips; “uh” only approximates ㅓ. Doubled consonants are tense, not extra syllables. Do not add a vowel after a final consonant.
Six phrases you can use today
At a restaurant, simple requests with 주세요 are useful. 이거 means “this,” so you can use a menu to help you order even if you cannot read every dish name yet. These phrases use polite language suitable for speaking with restaurant staff.

A menu, please.
메뉴판 is the menu. A short request with 주세요 is polite.
이거 하나 주세요
Sound hintee-guh hah-nah joo-seh-yoh
igeo hana juseyo
One of this, please.
Point to the dish you want. 하나 means one.
안 맵게 해 주세요
Sound hintahn mehp-kkeh heh joo-seh-yoh
an maepge hae juseyo
Please make it not spicy.
A request to reduce the heat. Some dishes cannot be made without spice.
물 좀 주세요
Sound hintmool johm joo-seh-yoh
mul jom juseyo
Some water, please.
좀 can soften a request. Some restaurants have self-service water.
계산해 주세요
Sound hintgyeh-sahn-heh joo-seh-yoh
gyesanhae juseyo
I’d like to pay, please.
Use this when you are ready to pay for your meal.

Thank you for the meal.
Literally, “I ate well.” A friendly phrase to say after eating.
